About Making Change
To me, to be of service requires both care and action. Work is fundamentally to be of service to others.
Coaching can be supportive to you and your community or organization if you:
Are in a life, career or workplace transition and want support and actionable steps to navigate change that is holistic and honors your own agency and capacity.
Have a specific goal or goals you’d like to achieve, and want structure and accountability to achieve them - achieving a creative goal, better stewardship and governance in work and personal areas of life, and learning many modalities of communication, including navigating power dynamics.
Are free enough to make your own decisions about your life and any resources of which you are the custodian - large or small, private or shared.
Have faced situations in which there has been a total loss of power or agency or crisis, requiring a deeper level understanding and inquiry.
About Me: Care Meyer
I work one on one with clients - individual and corporate - who are looking for accountability, insight, skills and self confidence to develop their careers and lives and programs.
I’ve worked with thousands of clients over the past three decades to reach career, personal, and relationship goals, and to experience emotional breakthroughs. I facilitate communication and psychodynamics in groups, and coach facilitators, artists and professionals, and those who work professionally to support others so they, too, have confidential support.
Over four years including during the pandemic, I founded and ran an international program of daily support and psychodynamic groups on Zoom, serving 350 members on five continents, with over 14,000 unique attendances at our events. Participants described the program as “life saving” and “life changing.” My recent training includes a 9-month training to be a certified teacher of ethical leadership from The Right Use of Power Institute (RUPI) under founder Cedar Barstow; the Stanford University Continuing Studies Interpersonal Dynamics course (co-led by Geoffrey Frank, who teaches the course at Stanford Graduate School of Business); a 9-month training in Resonant Listening with world-renowned Nonviolent Communication and neuroscience educator Sarah Peyton; training in Convergent Facilitation and courses in NVC and resource allocation under Miki Kashtan; and the 8-day Hoffman Institute Process intensive. I’ve received many years of training in NVC - compassionate communication - including under mentor Jim Manske, and in privilege - in group work with local community, and nationally from Resmaa Menakem. I have extensive training in trauma and trauma-informed practices, including from Dr. Peter Levine, Ph.D., and hold a Mental Health First Aid responder certificate from Lines For Life (988), as well as certification from a one-year program in volunteer engagement and leadership from Portland State University’s Hatfield School of Government.
I grew up in several countries and many cities. I began my formal professional career in New York City as a researcher, fact checker and copy editor at Time Life Magazines at Rockefeller Center, and as an assistant editor at two national magazines at American Express Publishing. I studied philosophy and political science at Georgetown University, then moved to Paris and received a two year diploma from the Sorbonne University in French Civilization and Language. While there, I worked as Martin Scorsese’s on-location personal assistant on one of his films, and became inspired to move to Hollywood and work in film production. I became a motion picture agent at International Creative Management, the largest global talent and literary agency in the world at that time, and traveled the country and world for my work representing filmmakers.
I made the difficult decision to relocate to San Francisco to start a family, where I worked for the Leukemia Society as a publicist, and fundraising and supporting patient families as a Campaign Manager for their Team in Training program. Eventually, I settled in the Pacific Northwest of the U.S., where I am based, and do advocacy work.

I’ve been working with Care for two months. She has been over-the-top helpful in moving my needle farther than it has been in a long time. We looked at issues that were holding me back from my personal and creative goals. I was able to dive into my writing and make more progress on it than I had in the past ten years.
